Some of you have been worried by the first, rather negative review of The Fellowship Of The Rings film. Well I've just received this second review from "Tinuviel" which sets the record straight in no uncertain terms.

Hi Jimcalagon, Firstly, can I say I've loved your site for years, long time fan, first time poster. I thought that you might be interested in this:

I got an invite to a special press screening of The Fellowship of the Ring which was just so incredible in itself because I am the most massive fan of the books - I even named my children Undomiel and Bombadil (sadly, they changed their names when they got old enough but that's their choice. I just don't speak to them any more.) I have been awaiting this movie since it was first announced and I was convinced that it would be the most significant film of the next century, if not the next millennium.

Anyway, I was incredibly excited upon entering the auditorium. The journalist sitting behind me ruined the ambience somewhat when he asked me to remove my replica of the crown of Gondor. Faced with this unbeliever I just turned around, shouted "A Elbereth gilthoniel!!!" and gestured with my staff which quietened him down and let me get on with the serious business of watching the greatest movie ever made.

When the curtains parted, I was almost overcome with emotion but I was absolutely astounded by the next 3 hours. This is the most completely perfect piece of filmmaking since... well since Ralph Bakski's cartoon version of "The Lord Of The Rings" in 1978. I was utterly and absolutely speechless and transfixed by the whole thing. I do not have the words to describe the complete and total perfection of this production. This is a work of matchless beauty and grandeur on an unparalleled scale in the history of cinema. To call this film a work of art is like calling the Pacific Ocean a puddle.

No experience can ever, ever compare to that three hours; the most important three hours of my life. If it weren't for the fact that there are two more films yet to be released, I would have killed myself then - anything else in life would be an anticlimax.

I'm sorry, I cannot write any more, my tears are dripping into the keyboard. Peter Jackson is a God amongst men. Aure entelyuva

Well that's more like it, isn't it? Nothing like an unbiased review, is there? Now can everyone please stop sending me emails of complaint about Dufus23?
