It has come to my attention that a certain Mr. Ian Markham-Smith of the British "Sunday Times" has penned a short piece about Cate Blanchett and the character of Galadriel. He included an interesting snippet which give us more information about Galadriel's background and how she aids the fellowship
For the uninitiated, Galadriel is the good sister of the evil but beautiful Queen Beruthiel, who imprisons the Fellowship of the Ring in the forest of Lothlorien. In the book, Galadriel frees them from her sister's clutches
Yes, this incident in The Lord Of The Rings is often overlooked by even the most erudite of Tolkien scholars, my thanks go to Ian Markham Smith for bringing it to our attention. OK, I do have a policy of only using my own reporters but when a piece of work of this quality emerges, I would be foolish to omit it. Mr.Markham-Smith may not be one of my regular reporters but he is doing sterling work in upholding the standard of journalism we have come to expect from LotR reports... I will have to get in touch with Ian with a view to a long-term contract. Jimcalagon out.
