I recently received an urgent email from John Horde which he has asked to make public
Dear Jimcalagon and readers,
As you may have noticed there have been some slight inaccuracies which have crept into my reports. Some of which I have had pointed out are:
- Gandalf is not an elf
- Elrond is not a Pixie
- Queen Beruthiel did not eat cats
- Middle-Earth is not set in the Middle-East
- J.R. Tolkien was not in Dallas
- Hobbits were not rabbits with big feet
- Shelob was not a giant spider
- Australian Andy Serkis is not American
- Brian Blessed is not a Rastafarian
- I must not pull Amanda Currins' pigtails
- Miranda Otto is not an Elf (despite the fact that she's playing Eowyn, the Elf Queen)
- The Dwarf King does not live in Kathardrath (I had forgotten that Smug the dragon had evicted him)
(List truncated here due to lack of space on server - Jimcalagon)
These were typographical errors which slipped in during last minute writing of the articles. Let me put your minds at rest. Peter Jackson is making massive efforts to preserve the text of the book.
I am hoping that any mistakes which have crept in will be removed by Jimcalagon but, in the meantime I would be appreciative if this email could be posted on the website.
Regards
John Horde
Now that this has been cleared up, I can rest soundly. I will set about removing all the inaccuracies from Johns reports. Don't expect any site updates for a few months whilst this work is in progress.
