Long-time readers of this site will remember my interview with German Tolk-Rockers "Unseeing Sentinel". Their love of Tolkien's books is legendary, leading to their recording of a number of Middle-Earth inspired albums, including "Dusk in Arda", "Feanor's Family Jewels" and the epic "Orc Entrails On Toast". (You can read the original interview here). Recently "Unseeing Sentinel" have moved away from their trademark Hard Rock into the fertile field of Euro-Techno music, disappointing some old fans but winning them legions of new converts.

As we discovered in my earlier interview, the band's songwriter, Hans Pimmel, has been corresponding with Kiwi wunderkind auteur Peter Jackson, hoping to realise their dream of supplying some of the music for the soundtrack of Jackson's epic film version of "The Lord Of The Rings" and it is with great pleasure that I can now exclusively reveal this statement from Hans...

"I have been having speakings with Herr Jackson and he is saying to me that he is having the very good impressions of our music and also our love and knowledge of Tolkien. He is saying that he is very much liking our track 'The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins' and is also very much looking for using it as the music on closing credits of 'Return of the Kings' which he says is most probable"

Hans has very kindly agreed to allow me to host an MP3 copy of this song on my site. The track itself is a radical (but respectful) reworking of the much-loved song by actor Leonard Nimoy and is bound to please both Tolkien fans and fans of good music in general.

So... enough blather, you want to hear the song. Because of bandwidth restrictions, I have set up a number of mirror sites. I know this will be a very popular download so it is probable that these mirror sites will be swamped. All I can say is that, if you can't see any of the mirrors, try again later.

Enjoy! Jimcalagon.

(Notice to webmasters - if you want to link to this page, fine, but I would appreciate it if you could host the MP3 on your site, rather than sending hordes of people here to download it and eat up all my bandwidth. Any if anyone wants to volunteer to be a mirror for the file, . Thanks, Jimcalagon)
